Mission

Vision

The St. Elmo Center for Gifted Education and the MCSD Gifted Department is committed to providing an environment that nurtures the unique learning characteristics, interests and capabilities of gifted and talented students.  Within this environment students are encouraged to realize their potential and develop a desire to use their talents and abilities to continue to set higher goals in their educational and social lives.

Through rigor, collaboration and higher level learning, students will develop appropriate skills, concepts, and attitudes that will involve their own learning in order to become independent, self-directed life-long learners who will demonstrate and fully understand and accept the diversity of self and others.

January is almost over and we have started the New Year off with an increase in enrollment.  We are proud of the hard work of the teachers who assist in the final assessing and scoring for placement.  We welcome all our new students and parents.  Please let us know if there is anything we can help you with during this transition time.

St. Elmo’s Partners in Education are Publix @ Macon Road, Bruster’s and Fountain City Coffee.  If you have the opportunity to drop by these locations, let them know that they are appreciated.

Parents, please let us know of any acknowledged accomplishments of our gifted children in the district.  We have a Wall of Fame in front hall and we love to recognize our students!

Remember to go to the website and if you have thoughts or comments go to the Housand Hollers blog.  We love to hear from our parents and community. Remember, you are an advocate for your gifted child and the faculty and staff at St. Elmo Center for the Gifted work for you and your child to have a well rounded education experience.

Please help us to give your student the gifted instruction that they deserve.  Let us know by giving me a "blog."
